8 Weeks

No words needed!

Today I had a bottle ready when Emma got home from school. I asked her if she would mind feeding Matthew for me. Well you would have thought I asked her if she wanted ice cream for dinner the way her face lit up. She was thrilled and ran over to the couch to get into position. It was Matthew's first time taking a bottle from anyone but me. He stared and smile at her the whole time and Emma was in heaven. She really enjoyed being able to help in such a big way and do something that nooone else had done. I am so lucky to have such amazing children. She was so careful and took her new job very seriously. I dont usually mess with bottles, but I think I may have to start doing it a little more often just for Emma. And yes, Claire is wearing pj's at 3:00 in the afternoon. My sassy girl now puts pj's on as soon as we get home. I think it is a fantastic idea:)

And let me just add, that since Matthew has joined the family, my girls have formed a whole new type of bond. They have always been great friends, but now they are best friends. They help each other, they play constantly, and they are always just as silly as can be. They just adore each other! On school days, Claire cannot wait for Emma to get off the bus and they play together until bedtime. I hope and pray that they will always be best friends. The following picture is just precious to me. I was so glad that I had my camera with me when I saw them walking this way. Claire had just fallen and scraped her leg. Emma was walking her home and the whole time she was comforting her and promising to clean her up once we got to our house. And guess what? That is exactly what she did:)

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day was special at our house this year. It is amazing how your heart grows as your family grows. We are such a happy and blessed family so who couldn't use another special day to share some love!?!
Both girls had school parties. Emma's was low-key with no parents attending, so I was free to go to Claire's without any guilt :). We spent several hours the night before selecting and addressing the perfect valentine for each classmate. Emma and Claire had so much fun doing this. They were so specific about who got which one. Claire also gave her friends some yummy 'love bug' cookies with their names on them. She had so much fun passing them out.

After Scott got home from work I showered the girls and Matthew with probably way too many gifts. I think I went overboard, but I really cannot help myself. Scott got me several gifts as well, but my most favorite was a beautiful ceramic plate that he and the girls painted for me. I have no idea when they snuck off to make it??? I love it and I will use it constantly to remind us all how much we all mean to each other.

Maddie's Birthday Party

The girls had such a fun time at Maddie's 2nd birthday party. We had never been to a birthday party at Gymboree and it was great. The kids played and played in the gym area and then moved to the party room for yummy cupcakes.

100 Days of School

It is a pretty big deal in kindergarten on the 100th day of school! Emma's class had a huge celebration! They also had their first homework project for the big event. Each student had to make something that they could display in class in honor of the 100th day of school. We had a few weeks to work on it and we could do anything we wanted and get as creative as we could as long as we incorporated 100 of something. I am so NOT creative lately so I had to get some help on this, but Emma and I ended up constructing a gumball machine and then Emma glued on 100 gumballs. It turned out so cute and she was really proud of it. It is currently hanging outside her classroom, but I promise to get a picture of it when it is sent home.
My sweet girl loves school and we are so thankful everyday that she was blessed with the BEST TEACHER ON THE PLANET!! Mrs. McGuire makes every day a special day and we love her!

Kaitlyn's Birthday Party

Claire had such a fun time at her friend's birthday party this week. The kids had pizza for lunch and then sang 'Happy Birthday' and had cupcakes.

Matthew's First Smile

I am sad that this picture is so dark and blurry, but I am so happy that I got a picture of Matthew's first smile! It was late and I was putting on his pajamas. I was talking to him and he was staring right at him and I told him that I was going to get his boogies before he went to bed. I guess he thought that was funny because he smiled at me! So I said it again, and he smiled again! I couldn't believe it. I grabbed my phone and said it again. He smiled at me again, so I took a picture. He is so stinkin cute when he smiles!!!
